When: November 21, 2012
Location: Cipriani Wall Street

Nearly 1,000 New York City seniors, singles and families impacted by Hurricane Sandy enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner, “Our Table Is Yours”, on November 21 at Cipriani Wall Street. The event, which provided a respite from the storm , was hosted by Food Network, Cooking Channel and Southern Wine & Spirits of America to benefit Food Bank For New York City’s emergency response efforts.

Invited guests were transported from the city’s hardest hit communities to a welcoming environment where they were greeted by hundreds of volunteers and enjoyed an elegant buffet. Celebrity chefs and other special guests were on hand to serve, lend their support and share a few smiles. Children were treated to an interactive puppet show by Super Sprowtz. Margarette Purvis, Food Bank For New York City President and CEO, took time to encourage everyone, letting guests know that the Food Bank services will be ongoing as families continue to recover from the devastation of Sandy.

Guests did not leave empty-handed – everyone received a gift bag that included a prepared meal to enjoy at home, information on vital benefits, and gift cards to purchase essential items from various retailers.

A huge THANK YOU to our generous “Our Table is Yours” partners for supporting New Yorkers impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
