“Food Bank’s Community Kitchen provides our mission with real-time perspective and solutions to serve the city of New York and vital resources to our Harlem neighbors.”

–Rev. Henry Belin, Chairman, Food Bank Board of Directors

Our Community Kitchen has served the Harlem community since 1984. Whether under the name Community Food Resource Center or Food Change or Food Bank, one thing has remained the same: quality services geared at the reality of poverty and the needs of our neighbors. We provide more than 100,000 free meals each month through our soup kitchen, food pantry and senior program. Our team includes professional chefs, community nutritionists, program administrators and caring volunteers ensuring healthy meals, comprehensive services and accessibly care for families and individuals needing it most.

Our Senior Center provides more than meals: craft classes and recreational outings, workshops with our community nutritionist, and sessions on living a healthy lifestyle. Breakfast is served weekdays from 9am-10am and supper from 2pm-3pm. Fridays after supper, seniors are given 2 take-home meals for the weekend.
