Food Bank For New York City raised a glass with cherished supporters at our 16th annual Toast and Jam event on a warm, early summer evening on June 17. Held at the legendary James Beard House in the West Village, guests were wowed by an impeccable menu created by award winning chef Rocco DiSpirito – #1 New York Times bestselling author, healthy lifestyle crusader, and Chef at the Standard Grill. Chef Rocco and his team served delicious hors d’oeuvres cooked over binchotan, a Japanese-style charcoal, and an elaborate raw bar, for which he is so well known. The menu paired perfectly with a signature summer cocktail from Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and a selection of Chloe Wines.
Food Bank’s Board Member Lary Stromfeld led the crowd in a toast to all that our supporters have enabled Food Bank to accomplish this past year. President & CEO Margarette Purvis echoed the gratitude felt by Food Bankers, and also made the official announcement that Chef Rocco DiSpirito is joining Food Bank’s Culinary Council.
