Food Bank Helps Break Guinness World Record for Largest Turkey Donation

NEW YORK, NY (Today.com) — Food Bank For New York City and City Harvest received eight truckloads of turkeys as a generous donation from TODAY to help families celebrate this Thanksgiving with dignity through the gift of a warm meal.

Together with City Harvest and the Chicago Food Depository, Food Bank broke the Guinness World Record for the largest turkey donation received within a 24 hour period. The record to break was about 7,620 turkeys and with the help of all three food banks we broke the record with 15,000 turkeys received. Food Bank For New York City received 3,780 turkeys, which will be distributed to New Yorkers in need for the holiday season. Many thanks to Jennie-O for the donation.
