MANHATTAN, NEW YORK — Two of New York City’s most iconic restaurants walked into a room together — and 65,000 meals came out.
On Monday, March 16, Peter Luger Steak House and Nobu joined forces for the first Eat For Good dinner of 2026, a sold-out evening that proved what’s possible when this city shows up with purpose. Presented together with corporate sponsors MetLife, Nationwide, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, S.Pellegrino, Acqua Panna, and Official Flight Partner United Airlines, the night raised funds to help feed New Yorkers facing hunger.

The evening unfolded in the cozy, warmth-filled second-floor private dining room at Peter Luger Steak House in Williamsburg. As guests arrived, passed hors d’oeuvres set the tone: special sushi rolls freshly prepared by Nobu chef Matt Hoyle, alongside Peter Luger’s signature mini bratwurst served with homemade mustard.
These opening bites led guests into the dining room, where Food Bank For NYC’s Chief Development Officer Matt Honeycutt captured the energy of the night perfectly:
“A surf-and-turf collaboration between Nobu and Peter Luger Steakhouse is unheard of and it’s happening in this room. Tonight’s dinner sold out almost immediately — which is a testament to how much this community cares, about giving back, and about great food.”
The jalapeño yellowtail sashimi arrived next — sliced to perfection and gone from plates almost instantly. Lychee martinis clinked across every table as conversations flowed.

Then came the main event: Peter Luger’s signature steak paired with Nobu’s black miso cod, accompanied by sides that lingered in the memory long after the last bite. Junior Board member Luke Roskowinski said it best: “It’s rare to see two institutions like this come together — Nobu’s miso cod alongside Peter Luger’s steak. It feels like a true New York moment.”

The evening closed on a sweet note with a trifecta of Peter Luger’s homemade cakes, served with their famous Schlag — an indulgent, only-in-New-York finale.

Together, the night helped provide more than 65,000 meals for hardworking New Yorkers.
