Biography
Ayanna Stephens recently joined Citi in April 2024 as the Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Talent Management for U.S. Personal Banking (USPB) and Wealth Management. In addition to advancing our DEI goals and initiatives, Ayanna is responsible for driving Citi’s agenda on talent, succession planning and leadership development for USPB and Wealth. Ayanna serves as a strategic partner to business leaders to implement key strategies and continue to build a strong, diverse leadership pipeline for the Firm.
Ayanna brings a wealth of HR experience to Citi with over 20 years of experience as a strategic business partner championing issues related to organizational effectiveness, talent and diversity, equity and inclusion.
In her most recent role as a Human Resources Executive at Bank of America, Ayanna worked with business leaders to drive the people strategy and influence decisions around performance and talent management, employee relations, hiring, retention and compensation processes for Merrill Wealth Management. Ayanna also served as the HR partner for the New York City Market, driving key initiatives around employee engagement, retention, and mobility.
Ayanna held various leadership roles across Human Resources at Bank of America. Previously, she was the Enterprise Diversity Recruiting and Strategic Initiatives Executive, where she drove the talent acquisition strategy to hire women, people of color, individuals with disabilities, and military veterans. Before joining Bank of America, Ayanna held several posts in HR at other Wall Street firms including Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers.
Ayanna serves on the Board of the Food Bank for New York City and holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Lehman College, City University of New York. She resides in New Jersey with her husband and two sons.
