Biography

Currently she serves as a Team Lead at Whole Foods Market, where she has developed strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

She was drawn to Food Bank for NYC through her deep commitment to advocacy and her passion for fighting for the rights and dignity of underserved communities. With a strong belief that access to food is a fundamental human right, she is inspired by the organization’s mission to advance food equity across New York City.

In her role, she is excited to contribute strong leadership, organizational support, and a people-centered approach. She values leadership as a tool for empowerment and looks forward to building meaningful impact by supporting students, staff, and community
initiatives connected to Food Bank’s work.

Her relevant experience includes serving as a former College Assistant at Brooklyn College within the Office of Student A􀆯airs and her current work in the Bursar’s Office at Medgar Evers College, where she supports administrative operations and student services. She also brings experience as a Research Assistant, conducting a project focused on the Caribbean experience and how it differs from the American experience, and holds leadership roles within campus organizations. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Black History Month Committee at Brooklyn College, where she helps lead programming centered on culture, history, and social justice.

She is currently a senior at Brooklyn College majoring in Political Science and will graduate in Spring 2026. She is also actively preparing for graduate school, where she plans to pursue a program in Global A􀆯airs, with a focus on advocacy and international impact. Born in Trinidad and raised in the United States, she brings a bicultural perspective to her academic and professional work. She is also a proud Queens native, which continues to shape her commitment to serving New York City communities.

Outside of work and school, she is a proud cat mom to two cats—Cleo, her five-year-old daughter named after Cleopatra, and Cobain, her one-year-old son named after Kurt Cobain. She loves music, movies, and Broadway shows. Brandy proudly lives by the motto #RespectTheArts.
