April 19, 2023, New York: The New York Yankees and Food Bank For New York City were honored by NYC Mayor Eric Adams and NYC Service for their joint service to the community, receiving the Partnership Impact Award for our collaborative efforts in providing 150,000 meals to more than 21,338 New Yorkers in the 2022 calendar year. The Mayoral Service Recognition Program is an annual citywide celebration of volunteers and service members, recognizing efforts to build solutions in response to community challenges and meet residents’ most urgent needs. The recognition program takes place throughout National Volunteer Month in April as a way to recognize the diverse volunteer efforts of the previous calendar year.
