Carmen Boon is the Vice President of Public Affairs at Food Bank For New York City, where she leads government relations, policy advocacy, and public funding initiatives.

With extensive experience in NYC government and a background in journalism and media studies, she has managed critical citywide outreach campaigns focused on affordable housing, human rights, healthcare, and social services. She also overseen crisis management and communications during historical natural disasters and global health emergencies.

As a first-generation Venezuelan immigrant and Fulbright alumna, Carmen’s experiences inspire her commitment to connecting communities and policymakers through equity-focused storytelling and strategic communications.
