Biography

As a college senior passionate about health, wellness, advocacy, and community service, Ms. Bartholomew was drawn to ELAC’s mission to involve young adults in civic engagement, lead food justice advocacy efforts in local communities, and positively contribute to FBNYC’s young adult-centered campaigns. Originally from the island of Grenada, Ms. Bartholomew has an Associate’s in Science and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s in biology with a minor in Environmental Science. Aaliyah has volunteered at several local community pantries and community events. She also has work experience in STEM education, sports management, science, and medicine.

Aaliyah has been a track and field athlete for over 18 years and has represented her current institution, Medgar Evers College, as well as past institutions and country in various local, regional, and national events. In her free time, she enjoys being in nature, crocheting, writing poetry, exploring new places, spending time with loved ones, and cooking delicious meals. Aaliyah credits her Caribbean background and upbringing for her zeal for helping others and drive to achieve.
