As President & CEO of Food Bank For New York City, Leslie Gordon brings grit, heart, and a no-nonsense drive to feed New Yorkers—and she’s got the third-generation food justice chops to prove it. Since stepping in back in 2020, she’s doubled food distribution to 150 million pounds while building a culture where people feel seen, heard, and valued. A true data nerd (ask anyone on her team), Leslie’s obsessed with how things work—something that started young, watching repair people with wide-eyed curiosity. With nearly 20 years in hunger relief, including at City Harvest and Feeding Westchester, she leads by listening, mentoring, and showing up—never from a pedestal. When she’s not working—which is almost never—you’ll find her with family, kayaking, or antique hunting for American brilliant period glass.
