Meals and Services in Harlem

Our Community Kitchen has served the Harlem community since 1984. We provide more than 100,000 free meals each month through our soup kitchen, food pantry and senior program. Our team includes professional chefs, community nutritionists, program administrators and caring volunteers ensuring healthy meals, comprehensive services and accessibly care for families and individuals needing it most.

All are welcome for a free, nutritious meal on weekdays at our Community Kitchen. All meals are served inside our dining room. If you would like to take your meal to-go, please bring a container to pack your meal in.

Community Meal
The Community Kitchen and Pantry is currently undergoing construction in order to me able to make enhancements to its programming areas in the future.  The following schedule changes are into effect:
Community Meal service is now offered indoors only. Grab & Go cold snacks are no longer available at the door.

Visit our Community Pantry to receive groceries for your whole family. While we’ve had to suspend client-choice pantry shopping in light of COVID-19, you can still come pick up a pre-packaged pantry bag of delicious and nutritious food items.

  • Registration is required.
  • Limit one shopping visit per household, per month.
  • Please bring your photo ID.
  • We recommend bringing a shopping cart.
  • Halal meat available upon request.

Use Plentiful to register for the pantry and make an appointment to pick up food without waiting in line.

Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9:30am – 11:00am

Pantry Pick-up Times:
Tuesday, Wednesday: 9:30am – 3:30pm
Thursday: 12:00pm – 6:00pm

CSFP (Commodities Supplemental Food Program) for Seniors 60+
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a program for low income seniors, age 60+, that reside in NY State. CSFP provides a meal box, containing shelf stable goods and a 2lb block of cheese, once a month to all seniors who qualify for the program. Please bring a photo ID and proof of address (i.e. rent statement, utility bill, phone bill, etc.).

Tuesdays- 9:30am – 3:30pm
Wednesdays- 11:30am – 3:30pm
Thursdays- 9:30am – 3:30pm

The Community Kitchen and Pantry in Harlem offers a variety of food support for Seniors who are 60 years of age or older.

Senior Lunch
