Food Bank For New York City held a nutrition education summit for teens in Harlem on September 23rd
, with surprise celebrity guests Keke Palmer, TV host and first African-American star of the Broadway show “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” and Brook Lopez, NBA All-Star center for the Brooklyn Nets. The event was in support of Food Bank’s Change One Thing initiative, a social campaign that guides teens toward healthier choices by changing just one thing in their diet at a time. Read more…
Going Orange With the Bulls

New York City morphed into Pamplona on Thursday as Spanish restaurant chain 100 Montaditos went Orange
with its first annual Running of the Bulls. Led by people dressed as bulls, participants ran and walked from the restaurant’s Bleecker Street location to its new eatery on Ludlow Street. All proceeds were donated to Food Bank.
Smorgasburg and Brooklyn Flea Go Orange

Food Bank For New York City teamed up with weekend food and flea markets Smorgasburg Willamsburg and Brooklyn Flea to spread the word about Go Orange to End Hunger
™. Food Bank’s Go Orange tables at both markets attracted patrons with games, giveaways and information to help raise awareness about hunger in New York City and inspire Brooklynites to take action. Smorgasburg and Brooklyn Flea vendors showed their support by sporting Go Orange tees and donating a portion of the weekend’s proceeds to Food Bank.

Go Orange Comes to Yankee Stadium

Food Bank For New York City took the field at Yankee Stadium last night with partners, donors and volunteers to kick off Go Orange to End Hunger™
and cheer on the Yankees vs. the Red Sox. In a special pre-game ceremony, Food Bank was honored with a $50,000 check presentation from the New York Yankees.
