Food Bank For New York City’s Students Against Hunger allows even the youngest New Yorkers to join in the fight against hunger.
Students Against Hunger is a food and fund drive designed to encourage student participation in the fight against hunger by raising nonperishable food, monetary donations through virtual food drives and awareness of hunger in New York City. Student Against Hunger will take place October 1st through December 31st. All donations collected by schools will benefit our member agencies and school pantries throughout the five boroughs.
Participating schools receive a bin for students and faculty to fill with non-perishable food items. At the end of your food drive, Food Bank will pick up the bins.
The schools that raises the most meals from each category are recognized, and the overall champion receives a certificate! The four categories are:
- Pre-Kindergarten and Elementary School
- Middle School
- High School
