February 7, 2016 – Food Bank For New York City’s Community Kitchen and Food Pantry hosted its 2nd Annual SOUPer Bowl Sunday pre-game party for more than 80 guests, including 11 families.  Bronx-born Baltimore Ravens player Chris Canty stopped by to sign footballs for our young guests.

The festivities were an opportunity to share the energy and enthusiasm for one of America’s favorite pastimes with the Harlem community and our member network.  Community Kitchen and Pantry Director Chef Max Hardy curated a special game day menu with generous donations from Baldor Specialty Foods, Sysco, and Our Harvest. Volunteers from Delta Sigma Theta Inc., joined Food Bank Ambassador Kelly Bensimon and her family for face painting.

The party also included a variety of juices from Louise Estrada’s fresh juice bar and music by DJ Spontaneous. Thanks to all our supporters for making the big game a special occasion for those we serve!
