"Change One Thing" this Summer
EATWISE Teens share nutrition tips with their peers.
June 25, 2015 – Every summer, Food Bank For New York City's EATWISE/Change One Thing program brings health & nutrition awareness to NYC teens. This year we're kicking it off on June 29th with NFL star and Food Bank ambassador Chris Canty's Camp of Champions, a non-contact football camp. Four hundred boys and girls will practice football drills, get fitness tips, and receive a lesson on the importance of hydration from our EATWISE Teens.
Food for the event will be provided by Food Bank Culinary Council member Chef Max Hardy through his foundation One Chef Can 86 Hunger. Organized by the Chris Canty Foundation, the camp aims to teach the fundamentals of football as well as life skills such as teamwork and communication.
Our kick-off at the Camp of Champions is just the start of a
summer-long campaign designed to teach low-income NYC teens about the importance of healthy eating and active living. Summer tour dates through July and August will be announced soon.
