The Food Bank's series of ads encouraging participation in the federal Food Stamps Program (now known as SNAP, the Supplemental Nutirition Assistance Program) appeared on bus shelters and in subway stations in low-income neighborhoods in New York City.

Supporters of the Food Bank For New York City celebrated NY Knick Jamal Crawford's birthday on March 17, 2007 to benefit the city's youngest citizens in need. The celebration was held at The Food Emporium BridgeMarket on 59 Street and First Avenue, where baby food and financial donations were made — helping to provide more than 2,200 free meals for New Yorkers in need.
