Join NY Moves and Ethan Allen for the Cover Party to kick off Fashion Week & Fashion's Night Out! Hosted by Moves Cover Girl Mary-Louise Parker this Friday, September 10, 6p–8:30p. The event will feature orange handbags created by Project Runway designers and aimed at raising awareness for the Food Bank! You can see the bags on display in the windows at Ethan Allen on 60 and 3 Ave and pick up a complimentary issue of Moves to learn more. Fight hunger while on line — the grocery line, that is. During this annual, citywide hunger-relief campaign, grocery shoppers can make a donation to the Food Bank at the check-out of participating supermarkets throughout New York City.

Presented by Food & Wine and Travel + Leisure magazines, the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival is the biggest culinary event in the big apple! The festival's all-star lineup has included Bobby Flay, Rachael Ray, Guy Fieri, Giada De Laurentiis and many more conducting culinary demonstrations, discussion panels, book signings and special tasting events. Culinary Council Launch Event

Location: Empire State Building
Fight hunger in Gotham atop the Empire State Building! Join the Food Bank For New York City, Culinary Council Chair Mario Batali, and other culinary luminaries for an evening of holiday – inspired cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the 80 floor of the Empire State Building, beginning with the Empire State Building lighting “orange” in honor of the Go Orange campaign. Mingle with the noted members of the Food Bank Culinary Council
amidst the art deco designs of New York City’s tallest building while supporting the Food Bank’s efforts to end hunger in New York City. This event will celebrate the official launch of our newly formed Culinary Council.

Every March, a selection of Time Out New York's favorite restaurants come together for Time Out For Hunger — and donate 10 percent of a day's proceeds to the Food Bank For New York City. In 2010, more than 130 restaurants joined the campaign and helped to funds for hunger relief.

Food Bank For New York City's biggest fundraising event of the year, the Can-Do Awards Dinner honors our partners in the fight to end hunger throughout the five boroughs. Hosted by Co-Chairs Mario Batali and Susan Cahn, Honorary Dinner Chair Michael Stipe and Emcee Stanley Tucci, Can-Do 2010 honored Emeril Lagasse, Bank of America, Wakefern/ShopRite and St. John's Bread and Life. With cocktails, dinner, auctions, raffles and a surprise musical performance from Buckwheat Zydeco, Can-Do raised $1.4 million for hunger relief in 2010! Stamp Out Hunger

Every spring, the National Association of Letter Carriers holds the nation's largest food drive — at post offices throughout the country. For one week in May, New York City residents can drop off bags of non-perishable food at their local post offices to benefit hungry New Yorkers throughout the five boroughs.
