Food Pantry

Operated out of the Community Kitchen & Food Pantry of West Harlem, our food pantry allows low-income New Yorkers to select fresh produce and packaged food items themselves in a supermarket-style setting free of charge. Our pantry combines this choice-style model with a specially designed selection of food in order to provide for the dietary needs of diverse community.

Open four days a week — Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10am–3pm; Wednesdays, 1–6pm; and Fridays 10am–2pm — our food pantry helps provide more than 22,700 free meals every month. The majority of the New Yorkers who benefit from the pantry receive food once a month. People living with HIV/AIDS are able to receive food once a week; family members are allowed to pick up pantry bags for homebound relatives living with HIV/AIDS.

To learn more about the Community Kitchen's food pantry, located at 252 W 116 Street in Harlem, contact Jesse Taylor, Senior Director of Community Kitchen & Senior Food. Contact Heather Joseph, Volunteer Services Manager, for volunteer opportunities.
