Food Bank for New York City

Food Bank Bites

“There are very few things that the government does that are more fundamental than making sure the people of this city are fed. So let’s stop having emergency food be a political football and actually move forward and make sure that the city is providing sufficient funding.”

—Public Advocate Bill de Blasio speaking at the 18th Annual Agency Conference.

Liberty Partners

Leaders in the Fight to End Hunger in New York City

When you support the Food Bank For New York City with a gift of $1,000 or more, you join a special group — Liberty Partners — those who are deeply committed to ending hunger. To become a Liberty Partner, donate online now or contact Peter W. Jones, Director of Individual & Major Giving.

In New York City, approximately 1.3 million people rely on emergency food to get by. Liberty Partners are leaders who recognize the scale and scope of our efforts to end hunger. Through your partnership, the Food Bank is able to rise to this challenge — providing food for our city's residents who are struggling to meet their most basic needs.

Supporting the Food Bank is also a wise investment: for every dollar donated, the Food Bank can help provide five free meals for New Yorkers in need. That means that a $1,000 gift can help provide a family of four with meals for more than a year. An even more generous donation of $5,000 can help provide 25,000 full meals through our citywide food assistance network.

Liberty Partnership benefits include:

  • Invitations to culinary and social events sponsored by the Food Bank, including our exclusive Toast & Jam donor-recognition party
  • Hunger Awareness Pin, specially designed by artist and filmmaker Matt Mahurin
  • Listing in the Annual Report
  • Guided tour of the Food Bank's state-of-the-art, 90,000-square-foot warehouse at the Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx
  • One-on-one meeting with Lucy Cabrera, President and CEO
  • Food for Thought, the Food Bank's quarterly newsletter
  • Regular E-News updates about program and agency news and events
  • Tour of a network food program (Kids Cafe, senior center, soup kitchen or food pantry)
  • Invitation to the Food Bank's Annual Agency Conference

For more information, please contact Peter W. Jones, Director of Individual & Major Giving, at 212.566.7855 ext 2261.

"We have one goal at the Food Bank: a hunger-free New York City. Thanks to the compassion and generosity of our most loyal supporters — like our Liberty Partners we are making more progress toward that goal every year."
Lucy Cabrera, Ph.D., President and CEO
