The Food Bank continually publishes a variety of informative materials to help agencies, legislators, media, corporations, hunger-relief organizations and the general public stay abreast of important issues and topics related to hunger and poverty in New York City. These materials also provide highlights of the Food Bank's activities and actions related to alleviating hunger. The Food Bank also produces policy and research reports, which provide a valuable resource to the legislative and hunger-relief communities. Food for Thought Newsletter
A quarterly publication about the Food Bank's work, this newsletter contains up-to-date hunger statistics, profiles of member food programs, policy updates, statistics and results from the Food Bank's research projects, and articles about different population groups, including children and the elderly.

NYC Hunger Safety Net
The NYC Hunger Safety Net (HSN) research report series is designed to track trends in hunger and inform research-based solutions for food poverty throughout the five boroughs. The series includes findings on New York City residents who rely on emergency food programs (EFPs); the operations, resources and services of EFPs; and an analysis of city residents' access to food assistance at varying poverty levels, including a spatial analysis of need and services. NYC Hunger Safety Net 2007: A Food Poverty Focus is the first scientific study to provide trend analysis on hunger in New York City.

NYC Hunger Experience
The NYC Hunger Experience research report series tracks annual trends in difficulty affording food among New York City residents. Socio-demographic findings identify populations throughout the five boroughs that are having the greatest difficulty affording food in order to inform policy solutions and address the problem of food poverty.
Policy Papers
The Food Bank's policy papers use data from our research to inform public policy at the city, state and federal levels. Our policy papers are instrumental in our ongoing efforts to raise public awareness and ignite legislative action to end food poverty.
Hunger in America: New York City and State
Feeding America (formerly America's Second Harvest, The Nation's Food Bank Network) regularly collaborates with member food banks and food rescue organizations throughout the United States to conduct studies on emergency food programs (EFPs) and the people they serve. Food Bank For New York City participates by conducting interviews with residents accessing EFPs and distributing surveys to the EFP network throughout the five boroughs. The Hunger in America: New York City and State reports draw on local, state and national findings, as analyzed by Mathematica Policy Research, Inc.
