Fashion Takes Action: Food Bank and Henri Bendel Go Orange to End Hunger™

On September 23rd, iconic fashion accessories retailer Henri Bendel hosted a “Fashion Takes Action” cocktail reception to raise awareness of Go Orange to End Hunger™ at its Fifth Avenue flagship location. Celebrity and Culinary Ambassadors including Kelly Bensimon, Todd English, Katie Lee, and Eden Grinshpan were on hand to show their support along with Food Bank Board members and Henri Bendel’s President, Chris Fiore.
The event featured a gallery of photos of celebrities – including Kelly Bensimon and Katie Lee – in support of Food Bank’s Go Orange initiative, shot by photographer Melanie Dunea. Additionally, photos of New Yorkers accessing services at The River Fund in Queens and the Bronx Morisania Revitalization Corporation, shot by documentary photographer Joey O’Loughlin, were showcased. A Go Orange menu was generously catered by popular culinary retailers Cabot Creamery Cooperative, jcoco chocolate, Treat House and Lavazza with 10% of the night’s proceeds going to Food Bank.

Food Bank Gives Insight on Toyota Partnership at PR Week Conference

Rouse, Vice President of Philanthropy at our mission partner, Toyota, for a lively panel discussion on the benefits of outside-the-box thinking at PR Week’s “Good Business, Better Business” conference in Manhattan. As part of Go Orange, 50 Food Bank members stormed Capitol Hill September 18th to advocate for full funding for the federal Emergency Food Assistance Program – a $50 million increase from current funding levels.
