2012 Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival
When: October 11, 2012
- October 14, 2012
Eat. Drink. End Hunger.
Eat, drink, end hunger – this was the theme of the weekend on September 29 - October 2, 2011. More than 50,000 attendees joined more than 200 celebrity chefs and culinary personalities on a four day gastronomic adventure. With more than 100 events throughout New York City, they helped raise over $1.2 million for the Food Bank and our friends at Share Our Strength, making the Festival one of the Food Bank’s largest fundraisers.
The Festival’s star-studded lineup included Anthony Bourdain, Alton Brown, Anne Burrell, Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis, Paula Deen, Guy Fieri, and many more! This year saw the return of SWEET – the event that started it all five years ago –along with other reoccurring favorites such as Burger Bash and Meatball Madness.
One hundred percent of the Festival’s net proceeds benefit the Food Bank and Share Our Strength, bringing in vital funding to help end hunger. In 2010, the Festival made it possible for the Food Bank to provide over 3 million meals for hungry New Yorkers. But the Food Bank is involved in more ways than one; did you know the Food Bank staffed the Festival with over 2,000 volunteers?
For those of you who attended the 2011 Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival, thank you for joining us to eat, drink, and help end hunger! The 2012 Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival will take place on October 11-14. Sign up for the Food Bank’s newsletter to be the first to know when tickets go on sale!
