Congress is preparing to vote on a child nutrition bill that would cut food stamp benefits by $2.2 billion — leaving millions of low-income children and their families with less food at home.
We need your help. Four phone calls — five minutes — today can make the difference between legislation that will improve access to healthy food for all children or a law that will drive more low-income families to food pantry and soup kitchen doors.

Call this toll-free number — 877-425-4810 — ask for the appropriate office and deliver the following simple messages:
- To your Representative in the House* say, “Please fund and pass a strong child nutrition bill that increases children's access to healthy meals both in and out of school — and that does not cut SNAP benefits or other nutrition programs."
[*If you’re not sure who this is, the operator can help you.]

- To Senator Kirsten Gillibrand say, “Please accept and pass a strong child nutrition bill from the House that does not cut SNAP benefits or other nutrition programs.”
Then, call the White House at 202-456-1414:
- To President Barack Obama say, “The only child nutrition bill President Obama should sign is one that doesn't cut SNAP benefits and that puts the country on a path to meeting his goal of ending childhood hunger by 2015.”
Remember, when you are connected to your representative’s office, identify yourself as a constituent and ask to speak to the person listed. You may not get to speak directly to your representative; that’s okay. In that case, ask for the person working on child nutrition.
