Who Doesn’t Love Cupcakes?

On Saturday, April 24, one of our favorite Brooklyn bakeries, Ivy Bakery, hosted their 3rd Annual Cupcake Eating Contest, which benefited the Food Bank For New York City. In this event, contestants attempted to finish 24 delicious chocolate-topped cupcakes in under 12 minutes, while the bakery dedicated the day to raising funds and awareness for the Food Bank. Could there be any event better than this?

Daniellan Louie, the owner of Ivy Bakery, is the cutest and sweetest pastry chef you'll ever meet. She continues to be innovative and creative with her baking, yet the taste is something familiar and comforting — that “how mom used to make it” taste! She, like her bakery, is very community centric,

as she continues to support the Food Bank and other community-focused nonprofits.

Through this year's cupcake eating contest, Daniellan helped raise approximately $300 for the Food Bank. To some that may not seem like a lot, but to us here at the Food Bank, that means we can help feed 1,500 New Yorkers in need — not too shabby for a day's work of baking.
