April is known as many things — the start of spring, the rainy season (April showers bring May flowers), allergy season, but what isn’t often mentioned is a quiet but relevant celebration. April marks the month that has Global Volunteer Appreciation Week — April 18 through 24.
To show appreciation for our volunteers, during Volunteer Appreciation Week we will be highlighting volunteers on Bank on It by having them blog about their experiences as well as posting a special Letter from Lucy and a few other special treats (you’ll just have to wait and see). Currently, the Food Bank For New York City has more than 17,000 volunteers on our roster — helping to save the Food Bank hundreds of thousands of dollars every year!
Please join us in honoring our volunteers in advance — post a comment to show your support!
