This week, the Food Bank is launching its biggest campaign of the year — NYC Goes Orange. We’re asking individuals and companies to come together and “Go Orange,” the color of hunger awareness — it is so fulfilling (and so much fun) to see all of the creative ways that our supporters are able to raise awareness and funds for hunger relief.
You can look up and see orange lighting up the sky from the Empire State Building. Orange can reach your ears during concerts presented by GIMMESOUND and The Gaslight Anthem. Orange will be coming to find you on your computer through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Orange will even fill your stomach — and those of New Yorkers in need — when you visit Billy’s Bakery or Ivy Bakery.
With food prices and unemployment reaching crisis levels, NYC can use all the Orange it can get this year. And that’s why NYC Goes Orange is starting early this year, launching today, September 8, and lasting throughout the holiday season.
While many wait until the holidays to donate or volunteer, every year at the Food Bank we see that hunger is a year-round issue. Check out GoOrange.org today and find the perfect way for you to “Go Orange”!
Plus, if you find a new way to “Go Orange” that you don’t see at GoOrange.org — tell us! We’re always looking for new partners and new ways to help New Yorkers in need.
