This year, Food Bank For New York City expects to distribute more than 12,400 free turkeys and chicken roasters this holiday season through our citywide network of food assistance programs – helping to make sure that all New Yorkers are able to enjoy this Thanksgiving.
To highlight these efforts , on November 17 the members of the New York Giants made their annual visit to our Community Kitchen & Food Pantry of West Harlem – helping to deliver turkeys and raise awareness about the importance of supporting those in need over the holidays and year round.
Brian Kiehl and Chris Canty helped unload our truck, carve a turkey and even serve our guests. It’s always wonderful to see members of our New York community giving back in a fun way. Not to be outdone, Bart Scott of the New York Jets stopped by one of our member organizations,
Park Slope Christian Help (CHiPS), to help deliver and serve turkeys for Thanksgiving.
As you sit down with family and friends this Thanksgiving, we hope that you will remember New Yorkers in need, who – thanks to the help of supporters like you – are able to enjoy their holiday meal.
